What exactly does it cover?
- Wear and Tear.
- Rust or other corrosion, decay, deterioration, hidden or latent defect.
- Electrical and mechanical or pressure systems breakdown.
It also covers any excavation costs associated with the repair or replacement of covered property, which includes damage sustained to sidewalks and driveways as a result of the excavation process.
What doesn’t it cover?
- Any piping or wiring that is not underground.
- Damage caused by sinkhole collapse.
Is the endorsement worth it?
The Service Line Endorsement is $90 a year, and the average cost to repair damaged utility lines ranges from $2,000 to $5,000. Therefore, the worth of the endorsement is determined by the homeowner, and if they would be able to afford the cost of these repairs on their own.
